RBI to release new 5 rupee coin

Chandigarh; The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will shortly issue the five-rupee coins in their new shape and size.

The obverse of the coin shall bear the Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar with the legend 'lR;eso t;rs' inscribed below. On its left periphery it will bear the word 'Hkkjr' in Hindi and on the right upper periphery the word 'INDIA' in English.

It shall also bear the denominational value '5' below the lion capital with the word ':i;ss' in Hindi and 'RUPEES' in English on left and right side respectively.

The reverse of the coin shall bear the portrait of 'CHANAKYA AND LOTUS WITH HONEYBEE' in the centre.

    Mumbai: The country's largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) said its net profit more than doubled to Rs.3,751.56 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012, as compared to Rs.1,583.55 crore recorded in the corresponding period of last year. The bank's total income has increased to Rs.32,415.49 crore for April-June 2012 quarter as compared to Rs.27,731.67 crore recorded in the corresponding period of 2011.
